Rutgers’ potential offensive coordinator candidates

Dan Bracaglia/SNY.tvWith Dave Brock leaving for Delware, Rutgers is looking for their fourth offensive coordinator in four years. Here are three viable candidates in no particular order:

1. Rob Spence

Rutgers’ quarterback coach has a 16 years of experience as an offensive coordinator including at Syracuse and Clemson. He’d also make it a smooth transition for quarterback Gary Nova after being his position coach for the past year.

2. Norries Wilson

Another in-house candidate is the running backs coach. He also has experience as an offensive coordinator at UConn where he has a good track record . Wilson was also the head coach at Columbia before coming to Rutgers.

3. John McCnulty

This is a reach considering he could get an NFL or a better college gig, but Kyle Flood still has to give him a call. He was Rutgers’ offensive coordinator from 2007-2009. In his first season as the offensive play caller, Rutgers became the first team in NCAA history to have a 3,000-yard passer, a 2,000-yard rusher and two 1,000-yard receivers.
