Rutgers facing a tough test in Fresno State’s defensive line, Blake Rankin imitates Derek Carr

PISCATAWAY – Rutgers’ rebuilt offense line will face a tough test against Fresno State’s defensive line.

Led by First-Team All Mountain West nose guard Tyeler Davison, head coach Kyle Flood sees a mirror image of his own defensive line.

“They’re very good up front,” Flood said. “They remind me of our defense, not just in our style of play, which is similar, but also in the way they play. Their players play with great effort, their coaching staff does an excellent job and they’re going to present a tremendous challenge for us up front.”

Meantime, Blake Rankin got a few reps as the scout team quarterback after Chris Laviano did yesterday.

“I think they’re doing a good job [emulating Fresno State quarterback Derek Carr],” Flood said.
