Ray Rice named AFC Offensive Player of the Week

By Matt Sugam

Ray Rice made the play of the week, taking a fourth-and-29 dump off pass for the first down. The play set up a game winning field goal in overtime as the Ravens defeated the Chargers 16-13.

The 32 yard gain was part of a 164 yard from scrimmage (97 rushing, 67 receiving) day for Rice. The outing was good enough for Rice to be named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week.

The former Rutgers running back leads the AFC in yards from scrimmage with 1,198 (794 rushing, 404 receiving), and is a major reason the Ravens are 9-2.
