PISCATAWAY – As Rutgers embarked on their third practice preparing for Fresno State, tight end Paul Carrezola sat out.
The reason was two-fold. Give Carrezola a break and get Tyler Kroft – who missed much of training camp with a high ankle sprain – more reps.
“This was a good opportunity to get Paul off his feel a little bit and continue to catch Tyler up,” Flood said.
However, Carrezola and anyone else who Flood plans to play against Fresno will likely be on the field when Rutgers resumes practice on Sunday afternoon.
“I think they’ll have to do something on Sunday,” Flood said. “I don’t know if everybody who will play will necessarily hit on Sunday, but I think everybody who is gong to play on Thursday, I would be surprised if they are not out on the field on Sunday.”
