Miles Shuler may have found a new home.

The former Rutgers wide receiver is “poised” to transfer to Northwestern, according to Scout.com.

Shuler was restricted by Rutgers from going to the Big Ten – which Rutgers is joining in 2014 – but won an appeal on Wednesday, according to the report.

However, Shuler is saying otherwise about his move to Northwestern.

Shuler told SNY.tv by text that the report is a “false alarm,” and he has not heard anything about his appeal results yet.

Shuler will have to sit out a year before having two years of eligibility remaining. Shuler will be eligible to play in 2014 and 2015, and while Rutgers is not scheduled to play Northwestern those years, they could play them in the Big Ten Title game.

The highly touted recruit out of Long Branch, NJ had just five catches and seven rushes for 138 yards and a punt block in two seasons in Piscataway.
