Rutgers Defensive End Michael Larrow Back From Suspension

By Matt Sugam

PISCATAWAY – After being relegated to the scout team while serving a four game suspension for a violation of team rules, Michael Larrow now has the opportunity to work his way back on the field.

“He’ll earn his reps. Just like everybody else,” head coach Kyle Flood said. “Mike’s a talented guy. Mike’s a guy that’s played a lot of football for us in the past.”

How much he’ll play in the future depends on how quickly he can get himself re-acclimated to playing in games. And that starts with refreshing himself with Rutgers defense after learning the scout team defense each week for the last month. Which is why redshirt junior spent time with the underclassmen while the upperclassmen had a shortened practice.

“We kept him out there with some of the younger guys to get him back in the swing of things playing Rutgers defense because he’s been on our scout team for a couple weeks,” Flood said. “But as he improves, there’s no reason to believe that he wouldn’t start getting some reps.”
