Mason Robinson trying out with the Jets, receives praise from Rex Ryan

Mason Robinson wasn’t signed as an undrafted free agent, so he’s trying to make his way into the NFL via a rookie minicamp tryout.

The former Rutgers cornerback and punt returner is trying out for the New York Jets at their rookie minicamp this weekend, and after the first day he’s already received praise from head coach Rex Ryan.

“He was playing some nickel and I like him,” Ryan said. “The coaches at Rutgers said none one wanted to fight this guy, and I thought ‘wow, that’s pretty good for a little corner. Now, we’ll have someone to fight him but obviously that’s impressive.”
