Kyle Flood optimistic about Brandon Jones

http://media.nj.com/rutgers_football/photo/11471900-large.jpgPISACATAWAY – After giving a grim injury report on Brandon Jones (lower body) the day after the Louisville game, head coach Kyle Flood was more optimistic about his fifth-year senior cornerback on Sunday night.

“We were more optimistic today than we were at the end of the game,” Flood said.

Still, Flood is unsure about his availability for the bowl game.

“Without getting into the specifics of the injury, it’s going to be a very tight timeline for him,” Flood said. “So he’s really going to be on the bubble until we get to about game week and then we’ll have to make a decision ”

Note: Flood said there is a chance kicker Kyle Federico (hip) could play in the bowl game depending on how he practices. Federico missed the final seven games of the season.
