Kyle Flood holds end of season teleconference
By Matt Sugam
Rutgers head coach Kyle Flood held his wrap-up teleconference today. Aside from sticking with Gary Nova as his starting quarterback, here are the main things of note to take away from Flood’s 20 minute media briefing.
- Flood does not expect any more underclassmen to file for the NFL Draft after cornerback Logan Ryan and running back Jawan Jamison did.
- As for filling the void that Jamison leaves, Flood said Savon Huggins would “absolutely be the starter,” and there would be a competition behind Huggins.
- Flood said he’s spoken with backup quarterback Chas Dodd and does not expect him to transfer.
- Flood said he has not talked to Athletic Director Tim Pernetti yet about filling the void in the schedule left by Boise State game and is unsure how the Big East plans to handle it.
- Offensive lineman Matt McBride (shoulder surgery) will be out for the spring while linebacker David Miliewski (ACL), fullback Sam Bergen (shoulder), defensive tackle Ike Holmes (wrist) and defensive Kenneth Kirksey (foot) will be limited.
