Khaseem Greene Named Big East Defensive Player Of The Week

By Matt Sugam

It’s not surprise that after one of the best statistical performances in an already decorated career, Khaseem Greene was named the Big East Defensive Player of the Week. It’s the second time this year he’s been given the weekly honor.

The reining Big East Defensive Player of the Year, Greene had a career-high 22 tackles to help lead No. 22 Rutgers past Army. It’s the fourth-highest total tackles in a game by an FBS player this season. It’s tied for fifth-highest mark in Big East history and third-highest in Rutgers history.

The Scarlet Knights (8-1, 4-0 Big East) are now alone in first place in the Big East. They return to action Saturday at noon, traveling to Cincinnati to take on the Bearcats.
