Khaseem Greene, Steve Beauharnais and Jawan Jamison named MVPs at Rutgers’ awards banquet

Rutgers held it’s annual awards banquet tonight and it’s no surprise who the team MVP is. All-American linebacker and the Big East Defensive Player of the Year Khaseem Greene was given the Homer Hazel Trophy as the team MVP.
Greene recored 125 tackles, 5.5 sacks and two intercptions on the season.
On the offensive side of the ball, running back Jawan Jamison was named the units MVP. Jamison rushed for 1,054 yards and four touchdowns on 252 attempts. He became just the third Rutgers running back since 1975 to rush for 1,000 yards and the first since Ray Rice in 2007.
While Greene took the team MVP, middle linebacker Steve Beauharnais was named the defensive MVP. After being snubbed from the All-Big East team, the senior recored 76 tackles and an interception.

Special Teams MVP – safety Wayne Warren
Scholar-Athlete Award – safety Duron Harmon
Most Improved Scholar – tight end Beau Bachety
Loyal Knight Award (character and dedication that proved resilient in pursuit of excellence) – Defensive end Marvin Booker
Iron Knight Award (demonstrated an exceptionally high level of mental and physical toughness throughout his career) – cornerback Mason Robinson
David Bender Trophy (for top offensive and defensive lineman) – right tackle R.J. Dill and defensive tackle Scott Vallone
Paul Robeson Award (individual whose performance, leadership and dedication on and off the field during his career has had the greatest impact on Rutgers football) – defensive end Ka’Lial Glaud
Axe Player of the Year Award – cornerback Logan Ryan
Swarm and Finish Award – wide receiver Brandon Coleman and cornerback Marcus Cooper
