PISCATAWAY – Rutgers will be down their backup nose tackle against Norfolk State as Kenneth Kirksey has been suspended for a “violation of team rules,” head coach Kyle Flood announced.

“He’ll return to action next Sunday night when we start preparing for our next game week,” Flood said.

Flood said Kirksey won’t participate in practice and meetings this week.

With the suspension, Daryl Stephenson and Al Page are listed as the backup nose tackles behind Issac Holmes.

“It’s going to give opportunity to other players,” Flood said. “Guys like Daryl Stephenson and Al Page all are going to have opportunities to move up the depth chart.”
