Dorian Miller Commits to Rutgers
By Matt Sugam
On the day they announced they’d be moving to the Big Ten, Rutgers also picked up a new football recruit in Dorian Miller.
The 6-foot-2, 295 pounder from Metuchen becomes the 18th verbal commitment for Rutgers’ 2013 class.
Miller made his announcement on “A Quick: 60″ at MSG Varsity’s studios in Long Island.
The reason he choose Rutgers is simple.
“They’re about their motto–they’re a family,” Miller said on ‘A Quick: 60.’ “I’ve seen football factories and they’re not one of those. They’re really a family.”
An offensive lineman, Miller is a three star recruit by Rivals.com and a four star recruit by Scout.com.
And he is excited to be going to a program that will be joining the Big Ten.
“It’s going to mean a lot,” Miller said. “I was one of those guys who, early in the process, I was looking at SEC schools, ACC schools…I mean, I made my decision before, but once they made that announcement yesterday (about the Big 10 move) it was icing on the cake.”
