PISCATAWAY – Six practices into spring ball, Rutgers has suffered their first major injuries. Defensive linemen Julian Pinnix-Odrick suffered a torn ACL while Al Page had a lower leg injury that will keep him out the rest of the spring.
“We’ll get him back by training camp,” head coach Kyle Flood said of Page. “But those are things that happened in the last couple days and when they left the field we didn’t think they’d be that serious, but they happened now.”
Pinnix-Odrick will have surgery in the next couple of weeks, and whether or not he can return at some point during the season remains to be seen.
“I think it’s to early to tell,” Flood said. “My experience with those ACL injuries is generally the rehab would go into the season where I don’t know if he’d be back for the season, but those decisions all get made later on.”
