“Rutgers University has been a tremendous partner in the Sandy relief effort, whether it was students immediately volunteering in the worst hit communities or raising money at various athletic events since November. It is just another example of how many people have rallied in support of families, friends, neighbors or complete strangers devastated by this storm,” Mary Pat Christie, Chair of the Hurricane Sandy NJ Relief Fund said. “The funds raised from this event will help with our long-term recovery efforts in the months and years ahead, and assist the families, communities and businesses in these areas come back better and stronger.”
