Kyle Triggs to become a Rutgers assistant

Eddie Jordan is set to fill the assistant coaching vacancy on Rutgers’ bench.

Kyle Triggs, who worked with Jordan when on the Los Angeles Lakers staff, will fill that void, sources told Triggs was the assistant to the head coach when Mike Brown was the head coach of the Lakers, and was retained as an assistant by Mike D’Antoni.

Before working in the NBA, Triggs was an assistant coach with Division 2 Walsh University in Canton, Ohio.

Triggs spent four years at West Virgina as a team manager while he was an undergraduate before spending a year as a graduate assistant with the Mountaineers.

Josh Loeffler, who was Rutgers’ Director of Basketball Operations, left earlier this month to become an assistant at Loyola while assistant coach Jimmy Martelli resigned in the wake of the Mike Rice fallout.
